Tony
Valente, CBC Communications, both created and developed the Cultural
Travels suite of web sites which includes the Cultured Traveler Newsletter—originally developed for Sheri Leigh of Enterprise Webs. Ms. Leigh died of
Lung cancer in December of 2007 without specific post-death instructions.
In the
absence of those instructions CBC maintained the online presence of the
travel sites in a passive manner. Now, nearly two years later (August, 2009)
Valente has decided to re-invigorate what Ms. Leigh started, first by simply
monitoring the sites and offering them as a package for active operation and
further development to those who could continue in Ms. Leigh's vision.
The CT Sites at their
peak experienced nearly two-million visitors per year and averaged phenomenal average session times of over
20-minutes. Nearly 40% of CT travelers researched spent
over $20,000 per year on multiple travels — see
CT’s demographic profile and survey. The
travelers the CT sites attract get here because they wish to explore and discover new
trip opportunities—which are, in turn, opportunities for specialty tour
hosts who might otherwise go unnoticed by the limitations of
keyword searches.
