The College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum presents exhibits emphasizing the prehistory of eastern Utah including dinosaurs, Pleistocene mammals,and prehistoric cultures such as Archaic and Fremont. New this summer will be mounted skeletons of the Utahraptor and armored dinosaur Gastonia, both new species of dinosaurs discovered by the CEU museum crews. On-going excavations have discovered at least 10 new species of dinosaurs. Summer field programs invited participants to help excavate and prepare bones from these new species from nearby dinosaur quarries. The Pleistocene exhibit includes a new 40-foot mural depicting life in eastern Utah at the end of the Ice Age and the mounted full skeletons of a sloth, Columbian mammoth, and saber-tooth cat. A life-size replica of a Fremont pit house, a Ute tipi, and exhibits of rare artifacts interpret early human life in Utah.
